Two top awards in one week for Jaguar XF

The Jaguar XF has won two awards this week, including Best Large Executive Car at the Honestjohn.co.uk Awards and a special Five-Star Accolade from Autocar.

Honest John Awards

At this year’s Honestjohn.co.uk awards the Jaguar XF has taken the Large Executive Car accolade for the third year in a row.

The Honestjohn.co.uk awards are unique compared to other ceremonies in the motoring world in that the winners aren’t picked by a panel of judges. Instead they are selected by which model in each category received the most page views from readers over the previous year.

Therefore the winners of each Honestjohn.co.uk award are among the cars that attract the most attention from the website’s visitors.

The editor of Honestjohn.co.uk, Dan Harrison, commented: “The British-built Jaguar XF competes in a tough market and is up against several of the German manufacturers, but Honestjohn.co.uk users clearly love the style and class of the Jaguar, with it coming top in the Large Executive category.

“We’re also fans of the XF due to its luxurious interior and immense refinement, so it’s no surprise to see it winning this award for the third year running.”

Autocar Magazine Awards

Meanwhile, the performance-focused Jaguar XFR has also received an award this week from Autocar magazine. Recently the publication announced that it would give a special accolade to each car which has earned a maximum five-star rating in its meticulous road test.

To date only eight cars have ever received a five-star score, putting the XFR super-saloon in a highly exclusive club.

Autocar commented: “Jaguar’s XF redefined the company’s range. The XFR super-saloon redefined its sense of fun.”

The Jaguar XF range currently starts pricing at £29,945 for the saloon and £31,945 for the Sportbrake estate. Engines available include an impressively frugal 2.2-litre four-cylinder diesel. This unit delivers outputs of 161bhp or 197bhp. Depending on output choice the XF’s 2.2 diesel emits between just 129 and 139g/km in CO2.

Other engines for the XF include a 3.0-litre V6 with outputs of 237bhp and 271bhp, and with either of these outputs the CO2 emission readings start from just 159g/km. Standard equipment for the Jaguar XF range includes climate control, cruise control, front electric windows and parking sensors.

The Jaguar XFR saloon, priced from £65,440, uses a 5.0-litre supercharged V8 petrol engine linked to an eight-speed automatic transmission. This impressive engine produces 503bhp and allows the XFR to cover the zero to 60mph sprint in just 4.7 seconds.
