The Driver Power Suvey, hosted by the motoring magazine Auto Express, is the UK’s biggest motoring customer satisfaction survey. It delves into every aspect of what a car is like to live with. More than 46,000 UK car owners took part in the 2014 edition of the survey. Out of over 100 cars rated in the survey, the Jaguar XK was the highest rated sports car for customer satisfaction.
Jaguar picked up the award for its XK sports car at a ceremony hosted in Buckinghamshire earlier today.
The Editor-in-chief of Auto Express, Steve Fowler, commented: “The Jaguar XK has once again proved to be a big hit among owners for its performance. But it’s not all about how fast it can go from 0-62mph, as it’s also praised highly for its build quality, ease of driving and ride quality. This is proof the Jaguar XK is an excellent all-rounder, and a great car to live with day-to-day."
Jaguar’s XK is a Grand Tourer available with an acclaimed 5.0-litre V8 engine, available in normally-aspirated 380bhp or supercharged 503bhp and 543bhp guises.
Earlier this year two new special edition models of the Jaguar XK were launched, called XK Signature and XK Dynamic R. Deliveries of these models first began back in March.
The Signature replaces the previous starting model in the XK range; it’s priced at £54,590 and delivers 380bhp from its V8. With this the car takes only 5.2 seconds to go from a standstill to 60mph. CO2 emissions meanwhile are recorded at 264g/km. Standard luxury kit in this model includes 20-inch alloy wheels and a rear parking camera.
The XK Dynamic R has a more potent output of 503bhp from its V8 engine. It can go from a standstill to 60mph in just 4.6 seconds. It also returns CO2 emissions of 292g/km.
Production of the Jaguar XK is set to end during this summer, which means UK motorists have a limited period of opportunity to get their hands on a brand-new XK before they are all sold out.
In total around 54,000 examples of the current-generation Jaguar XK have been sold since the performance car started production back in 2007. Throughout its production run the XK has been built at Jaguar’s plant in Castle Bromwich, Birmingham.
