The sporty model will be a huge boost to the double world champion as she travels thousands of miles a year carrying a haul of cycling equipment including her bike and helmet.
Collecting the keys to her new car, during a visit back to her home town from her training base in Manchester, Becky commented: “I love the Juke. It’s the perfect car for me and my lifestyle."
She added: “For an athlete, the knowledge that you have a safe, comfortable and reliable car to use takes a huge weight off your shoulders and just allows you to focus on your training.
Becky acquired her Juke thanks to Nissan’s role as the Official Automotive Partner of Team GB and ParalympicsGB on the road to the Rio 2016 Olympic Games.
As part of this, Nissan has launched the #UniteAndExcite campaign which will provide fans with exclusive behind-the-scenes access to athletes’ stories and news of how Nissan’s innovative technology could improve performance.
Other athletes set to compete at the next Olympic Games have received a new Nissan car. For example fellow cyclist Jess Varnish has received her own Nissan Juke, much like Becky James.
Nissan’s partnership has also seen a GT-R supercar be given to Olympic legend and brand ambassador Sir Chris Hoy. Hoy is also a mentor for Nissan’s #UniteAndExcite campaign and he has entered a motorsport programme officially backed by Nissan’s motorsport division.
As for the Nissan Juke meanwhile, it is currently priced from £13,200, increasing to at least £17,905 for the range-topping Tekna trim.
Using the frugal 1.5-litre dCi diesel the Nissan Juke Tekna costs £18,490 and delivers an output of 104bhp plus CO2 emissions of just 104g/km.
Standard kit for the current Tekna-trim Juke includes climate control, cruise control, parking sensors, satellite navigation and leather seat trim.
Earlier this month a facelifted update for the Nissan Juke was revealed during the 2014 Geneva Motor Show.
This refreshed Juke incorporates many exterior updates, with changes to the headlamps, front grille and new body colour options are added. Inside the updated Juke boasts 100 litres of extra boot space and a smarter designed cabin with all of Nissan’s latest driving gadgets.
This updated version of the Juke mini-SUV will go on sale in the UK from this June.
