Mazda3 features in stunning 3D street art

The Mazda3D artwork was created by London-based street artists ‘3D Joe and Max’. They made their work using a mixture of acrylic and household paint.

The artwork depicts a spiralling city in night time, and taking a central role in this stunning artwork is a new Mazda3 hatchback.

Shoppers at the Westfield Centre were encouraged to take photos with the artwork and upload them onto the Mazda UK Facebook page. Alternatively they were encouraged to tweet their pictures using #Mazda3D, all for a chance to win a trip to Barcelona for two.

As a result over 600 photos were taken of visitors posing precipitously atop the artists’ vertiginous view of another world beneath their feet.

The artwork is longer at the shopping centre but for those who missed out, Mazda has uploaded a time-lapse online video showcasing the artwork.

The Senior Marketing Manager (Communications) at Mazda UK, James Crouch, said: “We’re continuing to collaborate with and celebrate those whom, like Mazda, have challenged convention.

“3D Joe and Max’s amazing artwork challenges the convention of street art. Their work is incredibly eye-catching, and our Mazda3D collaboration at Westfield gave us a fantastic opportunity to engage with a new audience via various social media networks."

As well as being sold in five-door hatchback form, the new Mazda3 introduces a saloon-style four-door Fastback form which can appeal greater to business drivers.

With 36 models in total to choose from the new Mazda3 range currently starts from £16,695.

Engine options include a range of efficient petrol units and a single diesel, all backed by Mazda’s fuel-saving SKYACTIV driving technology.

The range includes a 148bhp 2.2-litre diesel, plus a 99bhp 1.5-litre petrol, and a 2.0-litre petrol with either 118bhp or 163bhp.

At best the Mazda3 can achieve up to 72.4mpg in official tests and CO2 emissions start from just 104g/km.

The new Mazda3’s trim levels include ‘SE’, ‘SE Nav’, ‘SE-L’, ‘SE-L Nav’ and ‘Sport Nav’. Standard onboard kit for the new Mazda3 range includes manual air conditioning, cruise control and a multimedia system which supports internet connectivity.

With higher trim levels customers can get features such as front and rear parking sensors and 18-inch alloy wheels.

The new Mazda3 is also one of three final nominees in contention for the highly prestigious World Car of the Year award.
