Difficult race for Chairman Ken Savage

After his recent success at the Oulton Park Perrys Chairman Ken Savage had a disappointing race at Spa-Francorchamps in Belgium.

Spa-Francorchamps is one of the most popular and challenging tracks in the world and Ken was up against the very experienced European Lotus racers putting his driving skills to the test.

Unfortunately the day started badly for Ken as he faced engine failure during free practice; meaning he was unable to participate in qualification. This resulted in Ken having to start the race from the back grid of nearly 50 cars.

Prior to the race starting the team had to replace Ken’s engine, but Ken unfortunately remained seriously down on power during the warm up lap. This resulted in a much needed trip to the pits just as the rest of the field started the race.

Ken finally started the race over a lap down with a car that was still under power. However Ken was determined not to let his stroke of bad luck ruin the rest of his race. Ken managed to catch up with the rest of the race even overtaking some of the other drivers. However Ken was still unable to regain the time he lost during his visit to the pits.

Ken finished 24th place and 6th in class out of an overall 42 finishers.

Kens next race will be at Brands Hatch Grand Prix circuit on the 25th of August; we’re certain Ken will regain his racing success, but to find out how he does for yourself follow us on Twitter.

We hope Ken’s next race runs a lot more smoothly!
