Extending the sponsorship agreement will see the number one selling car brand in Scotland maintain its position as Lead Partner to the Scotland National Teams.
The initial sponsorship between the two parties began in January 2011 and expires on July 31st 2014. The new agreement between Vauxhall and the SFA will run until July 2018 – up to and including the FIFA World Cup Finals in Russia.
Within that period, Euro 2016 will be played in France and Scotland’s men’s, women’s, youth and disability teams will compete in matches and tournaments throughout the world.
Duncan Aldred, Vauxhall’s Chairman and Managing Director, commented: "This affiliation has delivered tremendous levels of brand awareness and has helped further cement our position as the number one selling car brand in Scotland."
He continued: "We hope our renewed commitment will play a key role in developing the national sport over the next five years and provide the driving force behind the further progression of football in Scotland."
"Football and cars are two of our nation’s biggest passions and this partnership is a clear and unequivocal sign of Vauxhall’s long standing commitment to Scottish football. We are delighted to have pledged our support to Scotland and look forward to a second term of productive partnership."
Scottish FA Chief Executive Stewart Regan added: "It has been the perfect partnership and the fact that the renewal was agreed well in advance of the current agreement expiring shows the Scotland sponsorship is really delivering for Vauxhall, and we have no doubt it will continue to do so."
Vauxhall’s sponsorship renewal with the Scottish FA comes in the infancy of Gordon Strachan’s tenure as Scotland manager.
After securing an excellent win against Croatia in Zagreb, the Scotland National Team now has to focus on their next game: a prestigious friendly against England as part of The FA’s 150th Anniversary celebrations.
The historic friendly will be the first match between the two teams for 14 years and will showcase such players as Scott Brown, Kenny Miller and Robert Snodgrass for Scotland, against the likes of Steven Gerrard, Wayne Rooney and Jack Wilshere for England.
