Not only is the Spanish car manufacturer looking extremely healthy in terms of both sales and market share figures, the company is also well-stocked in the car department, with recent releases of the Leon and Mii Auto models, as well as the upcoming release of the sporty Seat Leon SC.
According to the latest figures released by the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders, a total of 4,428 new Seat models have been registered in dealerships throughout the UK in June 2013, marking a 29.06 per cent improvement over the company’s June 2012 sales figure – which stood at 3,431 new models sold.
Seat’s improved sales figure for the month ensures that the company holds off competition from close rivals such as Renault, Suzuki, Volvo and Dacia.
In addition, the company has managed to obtain a 2.06 per cent share of the UK car market, by marque, besting its market share obtained in June 2012 – which stood at 1.81 per cent.
Looking at the year-to-date figures, Seat has so far managed to achieve sales of 22,752 new models this year – again besting its aforementioned close rivals.
Total sales of 22,752 so far this year marks an 18.59 per cent improvement over the company’s to-date sales figure from June 2012, when the company achieved a lower sales volume of 19,186 new models in the first half of the year.
Furthermore, Seat has so far claimed 1.96 per cent of the UK car market in the first half of the year, besting last June’s to-date market share of 1.81 per cent.
Seat UK Director Neil Williamson commented: “Within the last few days we’ve picked up the coveted Auto Express Car of the Year award for the Leon five-door, launched the stunning Leon SC in the UK, and broken our half-year sales record – we’ve had worse weeks.”
He continued: “Between the Mii city car, the staggeringly spacious Toledo, and the all-new Leon family, Seat now has a model range that’s broader and higher quality than ever. That fact, along with an ever-strengthening dealer network, is starting to show in our sales figures.
“And with further expansion of the Leon family due before the year is out, Seat UK is on course for the best year in its history.”
