The 2013 SMMT test day hosted recently featured many intriguing and current models for the UK to be sampled by some of the country’s top motoring journalists.

With prices ranging from just £5,995 to £9,795, the Dacia Sandero is currently by far the cheapest new car sold in Britain right now. Launched in the UK earlier this spring, the Sandero five-door hatchback offers 320 litres of boot space, three trim levels and three engines.
The engine options include a 1.2-litre petrol unit with 75bhp, a 0.9-litre petrol engine with 90bhp and a 1.5-litre diesel also with 90bhp.

Another arrival to the UK during earlier this spring, the 500L is a compact but also spacious five-door MPV based on the retro-styled Fiat 500 city car.

Jaguar XF Sportbrake
The highly luxurious XF Sportbrake is an estate conversion of the five-door premium car. It offers a selection of engines including a 2.2-litre diesel and a range-topping 3.0-litre V6 developing 275bhp.

Peugeot 208 GTi
Available to order now from £18,895, this exciting new Peugeot hot hatch is a much anticipated vehicle which aims to replicate the success of the cult classic 205 GTi.

The Chevrolet Camaro muscle car is still available for official imports to the UK, with prices starting at £35,025 for coupe models, and £40,285 for convertible versions.
A minor facelifted version of the current Camaro is expected to arrive sometime during 2014.

With the Government’s £5,000 plug-in grant in place the all-electric Renault Zoe is available in the UK for purchase now, starting at just £13,650.
First UK deliveries of the all-new Zoe are expected to begin on 7 June 2013. The hatchback uses an 88bhp electric motor and records a top speed of 84mph while the total travel range is projected at 130 miles.
