Fiat will be hoping to continue its success throughout the rest of 2013, with scheduled releases for the 500L Mini MPV and 500X on the horizon.
According to the latest figures released by SMMT, the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders, a total of 1,506 new Fiat vehicles were registered in nationwide dealerships in February.
This marks a 4.37 per cent improvement over last February’s sales figures, when a slightly lower 1,443 new Fiat vehicles were registered in the UK.
With a total of 1,506 cars sold throughout the United Kingdom, the Italian automaker managed to outsell some of its popular and close rivals, such as Mini and Suzuki.
In the month of February, in 2013, Fiat managed to claim a 2.26 per cent share of the UK car market, thanks to its improved sales. Again, this represents a higher figure than those of its aforementioned rival marques.
In the year to date, Fiat has overlooked a total of 4,857 new car registrations, in the UK, of its motors, representing a significant 12.20 per cent improvement of the year to date figure for this time last year, which stood at 4,329 new Fiat cars registered.
Furthermore, in the year to date, Fiat has managed to obtain an overall 2.31 per cent of the nationwide car market, besting its 2.27 per cent share of the market in last February’s year to date figure.
Perhaps not surprising for Fiat is the success of its 500 model, which is the company’s top selling car in the United Kingdom.
In addition, the Fiat 500 managed to break into the ‘top ten new car registrations’ list for Scotland, achieving 123 sales in the month of February alone.
Furthermore, a total of 424 new Fiat 500 models were registered in Scottish dealerships in the year to date, besting popular models such as the Vauxhall Astra and Volkswagen Golf.
As previously mentioned, Fiat will be hoping to continue its improved sales figures this year, and next, with the release of the Fiat 500L mini-MPV and the Sedici-replacing Fiat 500X – with production starting on the new SUV in 2013.
