Earlier this week the French manufacturer announced it would be revealing its next concept car at the Triennale Design Museum, and have published a teaser image to accompany this statement. The concept vehicle has been created in collaboration between Renault and Lovegrove Studio, the latter headed by the designer Ross Lovegrove.
According to numerous reports in the media, the concept car will give a strong indication towards what the next Renault Twingo will look like. This new concept vehicle is anticipated to continue Renault’s current life-cycle design philosophy which was first demonstrated back in 2010 with the DeZir concept.
More recent examples of Renault’s current design focus have yielded the new Captur crossover SUV which will reach the UK market later this year.
Further details from reports suggest the new production of the Renault Twingo will be a very sporty model, complete with a rear spoiler as well as a rear-engined and rear-wheel drive powertrain.
According to Renault the Twingo concept will be inspired by the idea of ‘play’ and will draw heavily on nature. The French manufacturer explains that by examining nature, its systems and energy transactions, this project intends to bring awareness and understanding of those phenomena and their current impact.
The current Renault Twingo city car is available to UK motorists right now from Perrys Renault Dealership in Aylesbury. Pricing for the latest Twingo currently ranges between £10,550 for the standard model and £13,765 for the Renaultsport specification.

The Renaultsport Twingo meanwhile offers 133bhp from a 1.6-litre petrol engine. This cuts the 0-60mph sprint time down to only 8.7 seconds and the hot hatch also has a higher top speed of 125mph.
