Previously we took a closer look at some of the best family cars present at one of Europe’s biggest motoring shows on the calendar this month. Now today time we are here to guide you through the spectacular and powerful new models which have wowed this year’s audience in Geneva.
These examples of lightweight and fast coupes and convertibles are set to arrive to Perrys Dealerships across Britain later on in 2013.
Alfa Romeo 4C
Voted earlier this year as the ‘most exciting car’ for 2013 by What Car? magazine readers, the Alfa Romeo 4C has been a long time in the making.
Finally though, two years after its concept first excited audiences the 4C launch edition broke cover at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show.
The special launch edition version of the 4C will be limited to just 1,000 examples, with only 400 units coming to Europe and each costing an estimated £51,600.
Painted in either Carrara White or Alfa Red, the 4C sports a spectacular two-door carbon fibre body which takes inspiration from the 8C Competizione coupe.
The mid-engined 4C uses a 1.8-litre turbcharged petrol unit with 237bhp at disposal. This gives the 4C launch edition a 0-62mph sprint time of 4.5 seconds.
Currently sold Alfa Romeo models are available now from Perrys Alfa Romeo Dealership in Amersham.
Chevrolet Camaro Hot Wheels Edition
The chance to own a full-sized Hot Wheels car would fulfil the childhood dreams of many. However while this particular special edition Camaro is no toy, it is still an impressively stylish and powerful creation.
The Camaro Hot Wheel Edition features aerodynamic body parts taken from the muscle car’s ZL1 performance edition, along with some of its own unique styling touches.
It adds a new front grille and spoiler, new 20″ alloy wheels with a black and red finish, and black and flame graphics around the bodywork.
Inside the Camaro’s interior also have some alterations, including black and chrome panels for the instruments and door inserts, while the seats carry a black leather finish with red stitching.
The engine selection for the Hot Wheels Camaro is taken from the standard muscle car, meaning it can use a 323bhp 3.6-litre V6 petrol unit or a ferocious 426bhp 6.2-litre V8.
The standard Chevrolet Camaro with either engine can be viewed for now from Perrys Chevrolet Dealerships based in Dover and Rotherham.
Chevrolet Corvette Stingray Convertible
The convertible version of the new Corvette Stingray will share the same design, engine, technology and performance capabilities of the already revealed coupe model.
The spectacular new Corvette convertible is driven by a 450bhp 6.2-litre V8 petrol engine connected to either a six-speed automatic gearbox with paddle shifters or a seven-speed manual transmission.
The car uses a surprisingly lightweight aluminium chassis, and other lighter components including a carbon fibre bonnet and new detachable roof panels. These developments make the new Chevrolet Corvette over 60kg lighter than its predecessor, a change that should bring gains in the car’s handling capabilities and shorten braking distances.
The new Corvette range will be available for UK imports in left-hand drive only next year.
After it excited audiences with its public debut during last year’s Paris Motor Show, the F-Type has appeared once again in Geneva to build up further hype in Europe.
The Jaguar F-Type is available to order now from Perrys Jaguar Dealership found in Huddersfield.
The two-door convertible will be available for viewing in showrooms across Europe starting from April 2013 before launching during this year’s summer.
UK prices for the Jaguar F-Type will begin at £58,500 for the basic V6 specification, while the mid-range V6 S model is priced at £67,500 and the F-Type V8 S costs £79,950.
Both the basic and V6 S models in the F-Type range use six-cylinder petrol engine. While the basic model delivers 335bhp, the S derivative has a higher output of 375bhp.
The engine found in the range-topping V8 S is also a petrol unit, but with eight cylinders and 488bhp to boot. The V8 version of the F-Type has a projected 0-60mph sprint time of 4.3 seconds and a top speed of 186mph.
Nissan 370Z Nismo
The Nismo coupe uses the same 3.7-litre petrol engine as the standard Nissan 370Z Coupe, connected to a six-speed manual gearbox. However thanks to some fine tuning the total output has been increased from 326bhp to 335bhp.
This power boost allows the 370Z Nismo to trim the 0-62mph sprint time down by a tenth of a second compared to the standard coupe, taking it just 5.2 seconds in total to be exact.
As well as the extra power and speed, the Nissan 370Z Nismo also has improved aerodynamics and lighter, sportier components then the standard coupe to deliver an even more enthralling driving experience to those who own it.
The standard Nissan 370Z range is available to UK motorists now from Perrys Nissan Dealership
Nissan’s sophisticated supercar, the GT-R, will receive a raft of updates again for 2013 designed to make the two-door coupe’s drive even more enhanced whether on the road or the race track.
Engine details remain unchanged for 2013, which means the Nissan GT-R will continue to use a 3.8-litre twin turbo V6 petrol engine with the power output remaining at 542bhp.
The changes for this year include new injectors for accurate fuelling, a new turbo relief valve that delivers improved flexibility, and a revised suspension set-up.
The immense potential of 2013 GT-R has already been proven on track, after Nissan tested it on the Nurburgring Nordschleife race track. Here it set a time of 7 minutes and 18 seconds, which is about three seconds faster than the 2012 GT-R.
The Nissan GT-R can be found at Perrys Nissan Dealership in Blackburn.
