Vauxhall Adam UK launch is imminent

From 8 March 2013, the Vauxhall Adam will be available to view, test drive and order from the network of Perrys Vauxhall Dealerships set up across the UK.
The Vauxhall Adam has been grabbing plenty of attention since its quirky name was first announced last year and the interest surrounding it has grown more and more as further details have been revealed.
With the Adam, Vauxhall are aiming to provide a serious challenger to other popular modern hatchbacks like the Fiat 500 and the Citroen DS3.
The stand-out selling points of the new Adam includes its incredibly extensive levels of customisation for buyers. Vauxhall has previously claimed the city car offers as many as four billion possible personalisation combinations. This includes 60,000 exteriors, 80,000 interiors, 15 different trims and 20 sets of wheels, eventually to become 40 wheel choices as time progresses.
Another highlight of the Adam is its IntelliLink infotainment system which is provided as standard. The gadget brings content from a Smartphone onto the Adam’s integrated seven-inch colour touch-screen display. Connectivity is provided via USB or Bluetooth and it supports mass storage devices, including MP3 players, iPods and iPads.
Thanks to the Smartphone integration, owners will also gain access internet-based approved apps via the IntelliLink touch screen.
Features like these on the Adam certainly seem to have caught the attention of many, with reports last month indicating the city car had already received over 4,000 pre-orders in the UK.
Vauxhall are believed to be aiming for 8,000 sales in total in its first year available in Britain. With the Adam also reporting strong pre-orders in other markets around Europe, potential customers would be best advised to act swiftly before the demand for this car outstrips the supply.
For launch, UK pricing for the Vauxhall Adam ranges between £11,255 and £14,295.
The engine line-up consists of three petrol units, including a 69bhp 1.2-litre unit and a 1.4-litre with outputs of either 86bhp or 99bhp in total. All engines options are available with stop-start technology to benefit both fuel economy and CO2 emissions.
The most efficient engine option in the Adam’s launch model range is the 69bhp 1.2 petrol with ecoFlex technology including the stop-start feature. In this set-up the Adam returns a projected 56.3mpg and emits just 118g/km in CO2.
