Chevrolet Captiva gets a makeover for Geneva 2013

The new Captiva compact SUV introduces several changes to the rear and front of the vehicle, including new LED tail lamps, angular chrome exhaust tips and a remodeled bumper.

At the front, it sports a lower bumper, a new grill mesh plus restyled fog lamps. New 18″ alloy wheels are also introduced as part of the restyling to further enhance Captiva’s road presence.

The Captiva will now feature keyless entry and start as standard on upper trims. Inside, the vehicle will boast new seat colours, new fabrics or leather seats for higher specification models, as well as restyled trims for the instrument panel.

A dual-zone climate system, an ambient lighting package and heated rear seats provide even more comfort on select specifications.

Offering up to seven seats, along with additional convenience features, the restyled Captiva is a typical SUV for the family.

The refreshed Chevrolet Captiva will be presented at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show where it will sit alongside the brands all-new mini-SUV crossover vehicle, the Chevrolet Trax.

The President and Managing Director of Chevrolet, Susan Docherty, commented: “With Captiva and Trax, Chevrolet will offer two very distinct SUVs in Europe, both featuring Chevrolet’s iconic design”.

Detailing more about the Captiva and Trax together, Docherty added: “Trax combines the agility of a small car and the versatility of an SUV, making it perfect for today’s urban explorer”.

“The larger and more powerful Captiva has a more upscale presence. Captiva is the ideal companion for those who want to have some adventure, but feel that they could do with more space, capability and that extra bit of convenience”.

The restyled Chevrolet Captiva will likely go on sale during spring 2013, with a starting price little different to the £22,905 price tag currently applied. Engine options are also unlikely to change which means the compact SUV will still offer a 2.2-litre VCDI diesel which can produce 163bhp on the basic trim model, or 184bhp when found in upper trim levels.

UK motorists can order a Chevrolet Captiva now, or the refreshed model later this year from Perrys Chevrolet Dealerships found in Dover and Rotherham.
