Like its five-door hatchback counterpart, the new Leon SC is available in S, SE and FR specifications to the UK market.
Difference-wise the SC model has shortened the wheelbase of the Seat Leon by 35mm to give it a more agile drive. At the same time however the rear headroom remains the same as the five-door model, while boot space is also unchanged at 380 litres.
All engine options feature direct injection with turbocharging, and combine high efficiency with premium-standard refinement. The TSI petrol and TDI diesel units, ranging from 1.2 to 2.0-litre, cover a performance spectrum of 104bhp to 178bhp.
The diesel units offer the most economical choices for customers, including the 1.6 TDI equipped with Start/Stop System and Energy Recovery has an average fuel consumption of just 74.3 mpg, equating to a CO2 figure of just 99 g/km.
The 2.0-litre TDI, which drives the Leon SC with a powerful 148bhp, can return 68.9mpg on the combined cycle and emits just 106 g/km.
The Seat Leon SC petrol line-up starts with the 1.2-litre TSI with 104bhp, which boasts a combined fuel economy return of 57.6mpg.
Further up the range there is a 1.4-litre TSI with 138bhp and Start-Stop engine technology plus Energy Recovery brakes as standard. As a result it consumes at a rate of just 54.3 mpg combined, and has a CO2 rating of just 119 g/km. Finally topping the petrol unit line-up is the 178bhp 1.8-litre TSI.
These engines can be connected to either a five or six-speed manual transmission or with a lightweight dual-shift automatic gearbox.
Equipment levels for the Leon SC will match that of the five-door hatchback range. This means standard features on the Sport Coupe should include Bluetooth and air conditioning while SE models will add 16″ alloy wheels and cruise control. Move up to the FR trim and the Leon SC will include 17″ alloy wheels, tinted windows and parking sensors.
Orders for the new Seat Leon SC will open shortly after the car’s reveal at the Geneva Motor Show this March. First UK deliveries of three-door will reportedly start in April 2013, with prices likely starting from about £15,000.
The new Seat Leon SC will be available to order from Perrys Seat Dealership in Aylesbury.
