This has been revealed from recent statistics published by the Society of Motoring Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT).
It confirms that in the UK market last month Nissan sold 9,477 new cars in total, over 3,000 more compared to the first month of 2012 when the company managed 6,285 new registrations in Britain.
Nissan also made a large increase in the market share it took from January, acquiring 6.6 per cent in total, up from the 4.88 per cent share it gained back in January 2012.
As well as gaining a great sales boost in the month of January, Nissan will also be pleased to find that two of its current models were amongst the top ten most registered new cars in the UK for January 2013.
Amongst the list, the Nissan Qashqai crossover SUV was the fifth highest selling new model in the UK market. 4,280 units of this vehicle were registered in the month, more than other popular choices for family cars including the latest Volkswagen Golf.

Another crossover vehicle, the Nissan Juke mini-SUV, was the ninth highest selling new car in the UK market last month, achieving 2,522 new registrations in total. This achievement also marks the first time the Nissan Juke has made it into the top ten best selling new cars for the UK market.
The Nissan Juke is available in both front-wheel and four-wheel drive, and prices currently begin from £12,995.
The Nissan Qashqai and Nissan Juke are currently both built in the UK, over at Nissan’s Sunderland-based plant which is in fact the biggest car production facility in Britain.
