Seat Leon wins What Car? small family car praise

What Car? has published a list of cars across all categories in a bid to create a definitive list of models for all drivers – whatever their needs and budget.

Top of the small family car category is the Seat Leon 1.2 TSI S model, which What Car? has labelled as its best buy for less than £16,000.

What Car? has highlighted the Leon’s affordable price of £15,670, underlining that buyers are getting an incredible bargain if they’re looking for a high-quality small family car for their needs.

What Car? is one of the UK’s most celebrated car publications. What Car? editor-in-chief Chas Hallett said: “We hope that naming Britain’s best cars so early in the year will help car buyers decide what car is best for them.”

The new Seat Leon is currently in its third generation, with the latest model having been redesigned from the chassis up to offer buyers more quality than ever before.

The Seat Leon also performed incredibly well in a tough market throughout the course of 2012. 13,278 units were registered, which almost eclipsed the 13,486 models sold back in 2007.

Those figures are made all the more impressive when considering the second-generation Leon was in its final full year.

The new-generation hatchback was first unveiled at the Paris Motor Show in September 2012, with Seat pumping more than £650million into its production.

The new model features an abundance of advanced Seat technology, including high-quality infotainment systems, maintenance-free LED lights and more. Most of these features wouldn’t look out of place in a car twice its size.

Also available on the model are features such as parking assist, Bluetooth, a navigation system complemented by a 5.8-inch colour display touchscreen and more.

The new Seat Leon has been awarded an incredible five stars from independent safety body Euro NCAP, scoring an impressive 94 per cent for adult occupant protection and 92 per cent for child occupant protection.

First deliveries for the all-new Seat Leon are expected to take place in early March, with the car available to order now. CO2 emissions on the new model are as low as 99g/km, with some models able to provide 74.3mpg.
