Titles included Best Family Car and Best Estate for the Ford Mondeo – the third year running the model has won the awards – while the Fiesta and Focus ST also won commendations. What Car? also went as far to say that the new Ford Fiesta has been “touched by greatness.”
The new Ford Fiesta, which goes on sale later this month, was declared Best Supermini while the Focus ST picked up the Best Hot Hatch award. The four awards are the most Ford has ever won in the event’s 25-year history.
The accolades come at a good time for Ford, with latest industry figures confirming that the manufacturer has sold the most cars in the UK for the last 36 consecutive years. Statistics also show Ford has been the top commercial brand for the past 47 years.
What Car? says of the Mondeo: “The Mondeo is rewarding to drive, with agile handling and a comfortable ride. It will satisfy the family man and the business user, being as assured on twisty lanes as it is on motorways.
“The Ford Mondeo estate is spacious enough to keep even the tallest adults happy, while its boot can cope with everything from the family dog to furniture.”
The Ford Mondeo is a spacious estate that’s won a lot of favour with families. It has also previously won the title of UK’s Greenest Family Car at the What Car? Green Awards in both 2011 and 2012 for its economical nature.
The Ford Mondeo features a trip computer, power steering, Ford Easy Fuel, ECO mode and more as standard.
A new Ford Mondeo is currently available from £18,100.
