Kia has given the Sorento a long list of improvements, in order to further enhance the quality of the car. With revised engines, a new platform, enhanced interior quality and a smarter, more modern look, the Sorento has managed to surpass the high standards of the last model.
Total 4×4 magazine have previously give the Kia Sorento top-honours, twice, in the ‘full-size’ category. However, the Sorento didn’t manage to make it a hat-trick of awards in the category as it lost out to the brand new Range Rover.
Editor of the Total 4×4 magazine, Alan Kidd, commented that ‘we didn’t have many criticisms of the old model, but Kia has addressed every single one of them’, before continuing to add that ‘the Sorento was already one of the best 4x4s on the market… nothing less than an all-new Range Rover could stop it from completing a hat-trick of class wins.’
Following from Alan Kidd’s remarks, Kia Motors (UK) Limited President and CEO Paul Philpott responded by saying that ‘Sorento has won friends and plaudits throughout its history and we knew just how improved the all-new version is.’
The Kia Sorento models come with a 2.2-litre turbo-diesel engine and a host of emission-reducing features. The Sorento is also available with a choice of manual or automatic transmissions, as well as seven-seats as standard. The range of models also starts at £26,495 according to Kia.
Kia also offer a seven-year warranty for its Sorento models and owners can fix their running costs, three-years servicing and MOT for just £379.
