The Fiat Panda 4×4, which goes on sale at Perrys Fiat dealerships next year, is incredibly popular in Swiss and Italian alpine areas.
Over half of all Panda sales in 2013 were the 4×4 model and this rises to 70 per cent in Austria thanks to the mountainous regions and difficult weather conditions.
Top Gear has already named the Fiat Panda 4×4 its best SUV of 2013 and it seems customers are equally impressed by the third generation of the distinctive small car.
Fiat has labelled the Panda 4×4 a ‘Jack-of-all-trades’ capable of taking on mountain roads and jungle tracks, according to the brand.
In the UK, the new Panda 4×4 will not only be the smallest four-wheel drive model on sale; it will also be one of the greenest thanks to the use of Fiat’s award-winning engines.
These include the TwinAir two-cylinder petrol engine, a previous International Engine of the Year award-winner. The 0.9-litre petrol is one of the most frugal of its kind in the world and cuts CO2 emissions to just 107g/km.
A MultiJet diesel will also be available with the new Fiat Panda 4×4 for UK customers.
The Fiat Panda Trekking is the link between the standard two-wheel drive Fiat Panda models because it includes Traction+, a traction control system designed to improve handling and traction on difficult terrain.
The Fiat Panda 4×4 starts from £13,950 while the new 2013 Fiat Panda Trekking starts from £12,450.
Both new Fiat Panda models are available to order now from Perrys Fiat dealerships and deliveries will begin early in 2013.
