The draw for the Rugby World Cup 2015 took place in London on Monday, with the trophy delivered to the event safely and securely by a Land Rover Discovery 4.
Land Rover is an official Worldwide Partner of RWC 2015, and showed their commitment to the sport by providing an England 2015 branded Land Rover Discovery to deliver the famous Web Ellis Cup to the draw.
The Web Ellis Cup was delivered by Richie McCaw, captain of the current holders, alongside 2015 ambassador Will Greenwood. Greenwood is a Land Rover ambassador as is Lawrence Dallaglio, who was also in attendance.
Land Rover has a proud association with Rugby, with the manufacturer also partnering The British & Irish Lions Tour to Australia 2013. Land Rover also sponsors Premiership Rugby in England, Top 14 Orange in France as well as the 2012 Shanghai Sevens and Emirates Airline Dubai Sevens in 2012.
Also present at the draw were captains from all participating nations, with Mayor of London Boris Johnson also in attendance. England were drawn in a supposed ‘Group of Death’ alongside Australia and Wales.
The Land Rover Discovery 4 was the perfect choice to deliver one of the most iconic pieces of silverware in sporting history. The 4×4 off-roader is able to carry heavy loads (including two enormous rugby legends) without incident!
The Land Rover Discovery is a great drive, both on- and off-road. Its cabin is superb, and has more than enough room for seven passengers. It’s also incredibly versatile and is very well refined, carrying the same exceptional build quality typically found in a Land Rover.
A new Land Rover Discovery 4 is available from £38,825.
