2013 Renault Clio up for car of the year

The annual Car of the Year award is overseen by some of the biggest motoring publications from across Europe and the final shortlist is decided by a panel of as many as 59 motoring journalists.

As evident from the names mentioned above, the contenders to be named the Car of the Year this time includes some compact yet practical motors which are available to buy from select Perrys dealerships.

Other rivals for the title include recent offerings from some of the best known and premium manufacturers including the Mercedes A-Class, Toyota GT86 and the Volvo V40.

The 2013 Renault Clio is not set to go on sale in showrooms across Europe including the UK until early next year, but the car has already been turning heads and is set to become one of the most stylish and gadget-filled superminis. The new Clio is available to order now with prices ranging from £10,595 to £16,095.

The Clio is joined on the World Car shortlist by one of its key rivals, the Peugeot 208, which launched earlier this year during the summer.

The modern French supermini includes some frugal petrol and diesel engines, such as the road tax-busting 1.4-litre e-HDi unit. The 208 is available now from Perrys Peugeot Dealerships with prices starting at £9,995.

The Ford B-Max is another car which launched earlier this year, a mini-MPV which shares the same wheelbase as the Peugeot 208 and Renault Clio rival, the latest Ford Fiesta.

The B-Max boasts a more practical cabin however with highlights including its rear sliding doors and in-built door b-pillar which allows easier access to the cabin all-round for passengers. The Ford B-Max is available for purchase now from Perrys Ford Dealerships located in Aylesbury and High Wycombe.

The winner of the 2013 Car of the Year award will be announced on 4 March 2013, just before that month’s Geneva Motor Show.
