Winter tyres are usually motorists’ first port of call when cold winter months arrive, and with the Met Office warning of trying road conditions until spring, Vauxhall is looking to provide a solution with its snow socks.
Snow socks act as tyre covers, and don’t contain any metal. Instead they are constructed with a textile-style fabric which helps create friction on the road’s surface to improve grip.
Drivers can simply slip snow socks onto their tyres this winter, making them an excellent option for shorter journeys in poor conditions. Vauxhall’s Autosnow Snow Socks are available from £49.95 at Perrys Vauxhall dealerships.
“It’s often difficult to avoid driving on snow and ice during the winter months,” says Sophie Thomas, Vauxhall Accessories Manager.
“For the journeys we have to make, whether it’s getting home from work or picking the kids up from school, Autosock Snow Socks provide extra grip that could make all the difference when the roads are slippery.”
Snow socks can fit onto most Vauxhalls in the range, including the incredibly popular Corsa and Astra.
Vauxhall has also recently announced the Vauxhall Corsa 1.3 CDTI (three-door model) is now able to achieve figures of 85.6mpg. It also emits 88g/km, which makes the car exempt from road tax in the United Kingdom.
The car also comes with a number of interior advancements to help improve driver comfort, while additions have been made to the engine to improve performance and efficiency.
A new Vauxhall Corsa is available from £9,495.
