This year’s SEMA Show was hosted earlier this week in Las Vegas, and for the event Kia teamed up with the car tuning company West Coast Customs to create a special line-up.
Their work is five unique concept cars with exterior and interior designs each based on a DC Comic superhero from the famous Justice League series.
The dynamic range includes a Kia Optima saloon which takes inspiration from Batman, a Kia Cerato hatchback based on Cyborg and a Cerato Koup themed around the Flash. The line-up is complete with a Kia Rio designed like Aquaman and a Kia Soul inspired by the Green Lantern.
Each design for these superhero-themed cars was created by Jim Lee, an experienced comic book artist and co-publisher for DC Entertainment.
It’s reported that three more Kia car designs are planned along the same theme, including ones based on Wonder Woman and Superman. The third extra car will be a fully driveable vehicle which will include a design theme that combines all the seven superheroes covered.
All the cars have been created in support of a fundraising appeal called We Can Be Heroes, which was founded by DC Comics to battle poverty in Africa. It is intended that all these superhero Kia cars will be auctioned to raise funds for charity.
There is a very limited opportunity therefore for motorists to get their hands on one of these uniquely designed, not to mention distinct, superhero cars.
Motorists in the UK however can at least settle for a standard Kia Optima, Rio or Soul at one of Perrys Kia Dealerships located in Burnley, Preston and Roterham.
UK prices for the Kia Rio supermini start at £9,495, while the Soul hatchback starts from £11,795 and the Optima saloon is available from £19,595.
