Seat Mii Car Drop competition becomes global Twitter success

Seat, in conjunction with Auto Trader, suspended a new Mii 35 meters above Potters Fields Park in London’s South Bank from a crane as part of the completion.

Seat then invited people to tweet why they deserved to win the car in fewer than 140 characters. The car was eventually won by 28-year-old David Hyslop from Hammersmith, who tweeted: “When I approach hitch-hikers, they give me the thumbs down.”

The Car Drop competition received 12,687 tweets in two hours at its peak.

Mr. Hyslop says, “I sent a few Tweets and kept an eye out online and thought something must be going on when Seat started following me. Then, minutes later, they Tweeted the good news.

“It’s cheap to run, insure and tax, and easy to park – it’s the perfect city car and I’m absolutely loving it,” he adds.

Mii 3dr deliveries began in the UK in June after the car’s debut at the Geneva Motor Show. The car has been praised for its generous space and impressive equipment levels, and is one of the most affordable cars in its segment.

Prices for a new Seat Mii currently start from £7,925, and is available in Ecomotive, SE and Sport versions. The Seat Mii is available with free servicing for three years/30,000 miles.
