There are four specifications in the Berlingo Airdream van line-up, all of which use a 1.6-litre e-HDi diesel engine with 90bhp. This unit is supported by stop-start technology to save more fuel when the van is stationary in traffic.
The most efficient model is the L1 LX model with the electronic gearbox system, as opposed to the standard manual gearbox. This particular van has had its CO2 output reduced by 5g/km, meaning the total is down from 123g/km to 118g/km. The rest of the Airdream range also enjoy CO2 reductions by between 2g/km and 4g/km
The official combined fuel economy for this specification meanwhile is up from 58.3mpg to 62.8mpg, representing a 4.5 per cent improvement in efficiency. Other models in the Berlingo Airdream line-up have improved combined fuel economy figures by around two per cent.
In other news for the Citroen Berlingo van, the Platform Cab model will from November 2012 gain extra onboard equipment. The standard kit list will include a Citroen Plus Pack which offers electrical and heated door mirrors, remote control central locking and electric windows with ‘one-touch’ operation.
The Citroen Berlingo is one of the smaller vans in Citroen’s range, sitting below the larger Dispatch and the range-topping Citroen Relay van.
The cleaner and more fuel efficient Citroen Berlingo Airdream range is available now from Perrys Citroen Dealerships at Barnsley, Huddersfield and Milton Keynes.
