New Vauxhall Cascada convertible revealed

Vauxhall is renowned for its practical family cars and luxury saloon models, although it is a bit of an outsider when it comes to convertible models.

Although the Vauxhall TwinTop convertible was released back in 2006, the British brand hasn’t released a full-size convertible model on sale since the 1930’s.

But the new Vauxhall Cascada will rejuvenate the brands presence in the soft top sector with a new stylish addition.

The new Vauxhall Cascada offers a sophisticated and chiselled exterior design, with strong contour lines on its bonnet and flanks. It also incorporates a new ‘shark fin’ headlamp design.

As with all soft tops, the Cascada offers both the benefits of a stylish coupe-like body style with its roof up, as well as the option of a convertible body with its fabric roof retracted.

Inside, the Cascada offers a highly executive based cabin, with instrument panel features very similar to its Insignia saloon sibling – which includes plentiful media and comfort features. There is also the option of high-quality leather heated seats.

For added convenience there is also a boot space with up to 350-litres of storage space.

Under the bonnet there is a choice of both petrol and diesel engines, including an entry level 1.4-litre petrol producing 138bhp. The other engines include a 1.6-litre petrol delivering 168bhp and an efficient 23.0-litre diesel delivering 163bhp.

Vauxhall Cascada prices will be announced closer to its release date in 2013. Orders for the Vauxhall Cascada will open in March 2013.

Vauxhall vehicles are available from Perrys Vauxhall dealerships.
