Since its last refresh back in 2010, the Kia Sorento has been an important model in the South Korean manufactures range, which is continually building a stronger reputation for itself.
With the growing popularity of the Sorento’s ‘younger brother’, the Kia Sportage, the model could do with a slight revamp – which is exactly what Kia is doing.
The new Kia Sorento SUV builds on the fun-to-drive, practical and efficient credentials of its predecessor with new features across its entire range.
At a glance, the new Sorento offers a slightly sportier appeal as its ride height has been lowered 10mm, it has a revised suspension and there are stronger contour lines on its body.
One of the key additions to the new Sorento line-up is the addition of a 2.2-litre CRDi turbodiesel engine as a standard feature. This diesel powertrain delivers a massive 194bhp and can reach 0-60mph in just 9.4 seconds.
Although it delivers an impressive power output, the Kia Sorento still delivers nearly 50mpg. Alongside this powertrain, all models are fitted with all-wheel-drive as standard.
There are four trim levels on offer: KX-1, KX-2, KX-2 Sat-Nav and KX-3. Entry level features of the KX-1 trim level include leather trimmed steering wheel, a range of media gadgets and up to 1,530 litres of interior storage space.
The top of the range KX-3 trim level adds luxury features such as a panoramic roof, satellite navigation and 18-inch alloy wheels.
New Kia Sorento prices start from just £26,495. Orders are open for the new Sorento this month, with first deliveries in December.
