There have been a number of amazing revelations at the Paris Motor Show so far. One thing we think will be music to buyer’s ears is the officially unveiling of the new Mazda6 saloon.
Mazda has confirmed that the cars will be powered by Mazda’s award-winning Skyactiv 2.0-litre petrol and 2.2-litre diesel engines, with the choice of six-speed manual and automatic Skyactiv transmissions available.
The chassis and body structures on the Mazda6 are stiffer and safer than ever before. The steering and suspension combine low-speed agility with high-speed stability, which benefits the driver immensely on the road.
The new Mazda6 also features a whole new design language to its predecessor called ‘Kodo’, which sits alongside its new Skyactiv technology and adds highly sculptured exterior styling.
The Mazda6 also features a large array of safety technologies to ensure reliable driver safety on the road which, again, is where the manufacturer’s Skyactiv technology comes into play. The Mazda6 has a Skyactiv chassis and body, which combines lightweight design with efficient, responsive safety technology.
These new features are part of Mazda’s new i-ELOOP system, which includes rigid impact-absorbing structures and innovative load paths to disperse energy away from the cabin in the event of a collision.
Mazda has announced that the car will be available in saloon and tourer versions.
The new Mazda6 will be available to buy from Mazda dealerships in January 2013. New Mazda6 prices start from £19,595 on the road.
Mazda vehicles are available from Perrys Mazda dealerships.
