The output figure for the Hybrid4 has been reduced from 99g/km to 91g/km. The car’s low CO2 output already meant it was exempt from road tax prior to this update, but now the Peugeot has further secured its position as the cleanest car in the crossover category.
The reduction in CO2 emissions can be credited to an update to the car’s management software for the engines, which better optimise the potential from the batteries used on the 3008 Hybrid4 electric motor.
Peugeot also reiterates that the 3008 Hybrid4 can return a fuel economy as strong as 80.7mpg, when fitted with 16″ low rolling resistance tyres.
The Hybrid4 powertrain combines a 163bhp HDi diesel engine with a 37bhp electric motor to achieve a maximum power output of 200bhp. Performance-wise the 3008 Hybrid4 covers the 0-60mph sprint in 8.2 seconds and can reach a top speed of 118mph.
Since its initial introduction to the 3008 crossover last year, Peugeot has expanded the use of the Hybrid4 powertrain to other family cars including the 508 saloon and the 508 RXH estate model.
The Hybrid4 powertrain has also made its way to the luxurious Citroen DS5 estate, where it also produces 200bhp and emits just 99g/km in CO2.
The updated Peugeot 3008 Hybrid4 is available now from just £26,995 and can be found in Perrys Peugeot Dealerships located in Aylesbury, Blackburn, Bolton, Milton Keynes, Nelson and Portsmouth.
