Back in August at the Moscow Auto Show, Mazda revealed a video of its new 2014 Mazda6 driving in the desert.[YouTube:H3y9UZMoOYw]
The video wooed as fans got a glimpse of the brand new Mazda6 in action…or what they thought was the new Mazda6 anyway.
Unfortunately, Mazda could not get its hands on one of the new models. As this was the case, Mazda created a ‘fake’ one.
Mazda has recently announced that the video was created using a 2012 Mazda6 model, which was made to look like the new 2014 Mazda6 using on car ‘tracking markers’.
By using tracking markers on the car, Mazda were able to create a virtual shell of the 2014 Mazda6 over the existing model – a bit like cartoon animation. Even though this was the case, the video still impressed its fans.
The new 2014 Mazda6 has already earned a glowing reputation and whet the appetite of its fans as it is set to feature the new fuel saving Skyactiv technology and Kodo body language.
Both of these features create a new exterior design that is both sporty and fuel efficient. The new Mazda6 is also matched with a new frugal Skyactiv-D 2.2 litre diesel engine, which works alongside a regenerative braking system, which turns kinetic energy into electricity.
