Jaguar is launching a new Speed Pack for its high performance XFR saloon as it looks to overtake its rivals in the super-saloon segment.
Jaguar’s executive saloon, not to be confused with the luxury Jaguar XJ saloon, is now 19mph faster than before when the top-level Jaguar XKR Speed Pack is chosen.
Speed packs have become somewhat of a Jaguar tradition over the years as the natural style offered by Jaguar models provides a sporting base for performance credentials.
This mixture of elegance and performance has already been seen on the likes of the Jaguar XKR and will now propel the XJ into the realms of super-saloon.
According to the brand, the new optional XFR Speed Pack includes performance, handling and aesthetic enhancements.
This includes a new Speed Pack adding an aerodynamic body kit, a front aero splitter and newly sculptured flanks.
Under the bonnet, the 5.0-litre V8 engine has been upgraded to add extra power and performance with the new speed pack
Its new performance figures include a power output of 503bhp and an increased top speed of 174mph (originally 155mph). A new eight-speed automatic gearbox has also been added to match its new engine configuration. Fuel saving stop/start technology is also matched with the new engine.
Low resistance tyres and brake regeneration mean more fuel is saved and Jaguar says the Speed Pack will actually reduce CO2 emissions by eight per cent over the XKR.
The new Jaguar XFR Speed Pack is available now priced at £2,750 in the UK. Jaguar vehicles are available from Perrys Jaguar dealerships.
