One of the UK’s leading electric charging companies, POD Point, is offering free home charging kits to car owners in those regions, which is typically worth over £1,000 when fully installed.
The model that POD Point is giving away is the Solo 2, a smart communicating charge point that features a built-in GPRS to allow two-way communication between a charge point and an online account.
Using the Solo 2 allows people to see the amount of energy they have used when they are charging their car. Electric and hybrid car owners can also remotely lock the Solo 2 and set charging schedules, meaning they can set charging times via their laptop, mobile phone or PC.
The Solo 2 can be installed in the home or workplace, subject to a free site survey. People living within the M25 area can be considered if they take part in the Low Carbon London electric vehicle usage trial.
The Solo 2 is the perfect charging point to complement EV vehicles such as the Renault Fluence and the Renault Twizy. The Renault Zoe is also released later this year, with prices starting from £13,650 on-the-road after the UK Plug-in Car Grant.
The Solo 2 would also be a great option for Vauxhall Ampera owners in those regions. The Vauxhall Ampera is available from £29,995 OTR, also inclusive of the £5,000 government plug-in car grant.
Buyers interested in buying a new Vauxhall Ampera can contact Perrys Vauxhall dealerships.
