Chevrolet launches Manchester United film competition

As part of their new found partnership, Chevrolet is launching a film competition that will give aspiring film makers a chance to win £8,000 and a trip to London.

Chevrolet has only recently become the Official Automotive Sponsor for Premiere League football club Manchester United, but the partnership is already producing interesting results as it sees one of the world’s most stylish car manufacturers (Chevy) and one of the world’s most popular football teams (Man u) team up.

The competition is part of this year’s MOFILM (a global creative community) London video contest and it challenges film makers to create a 60 second pre-match clip that best captures the atmosphere before a big match at Manchester United’s home ground, Old Trafford.

With hundreds of millions of Manchester United fans worldwide, plus £8,000 and a weekend trip to London for two up for grabs, competition won’t be scarce.

Beate Stumpe, Director, Brand & Marketing of Chevrolet Europe, said: “With our new partnership with Manchester United, we are bringing fans closer to the game. We are very much looking forward to see how young filmmakers portray the pulsating anticipation felt by supporters in that one minute before the match starts.”

The 60 second clips must be made just before kick off on a Saturday afternoon at 2.59pm, with the deadline for the competition being 12:00 noon on 1 October 2012.
