Fords fleet sales boasts 15.9 per cent market share

Ford is entering the era of its best vehicle range to date, as it continues to reap the benefits of record fleet sales.

At the end of July this year, Ford celebrated a year to date market share of 15.9 per cent, which is an improvement on the 15.4 per cent figure from last year. But these dominant fleet market sales have not happened over night.

With constant advancements in engine technology, media sophistication and stylistic designs, Ford has put itself on the proverbial ‘hot cars’ map.

Its new award winning EcoBoost has been just one of the brand’s cornerstones to success as its low CO2 emissions and range availability, earned it the 2012 International Engine of the Year accolade.

Ford’s up to date designs and new in-car technology have also been a big part of the American brands success. Ford’s SYNC technology is one of the most significant media features and has earned Ford the reputation of ‘talking cars’.

Kevin Griffin, Ford of Britain fleet director, said: “Ford sells its vehicles across all sectors of the UK fleet markets and I am delighted that the company has seen an increase in total fleet sales, in 2012.

“The combination of Ford’s best-ever vehicle range, latest fuel-efficient diesel and EcoBoost petrol engines, improving residual values and the power of the UK’s largest dealer network has seen Ford’s fleet business go from strength-to-strength.”

In terms of popular fleet models, Ford C-Max sales have seen a massive 22 per cent increase compared to last year, with the Ford Focus and Ford Fiesta also seeing percentage increases.

With the new Ford B-Max on the way, Ford can expect its fleet sales, and many other market sales, to continue a steady upward gradient.
