Vauxhall’s Corsa supermini has proven itself again in the monthly sales, as it sold 5,809 units in July alone, putting it second in the overall best sellers table behind the Ford Fiesta.
The Corsa’s sales brought Vauxhall’s overall July sales figure to a massive 17,999, an 11 per cent increase compared to July last year, and its year to date sales figure to 52,956 units.
Vauxhall occupied 12.5 per cent of the market share in July, proving it is one of the most lucrative brands in the UK.
The Corsa supermini has always been a favourite for Vauxhall as its low price tag of £9,495 and snug size make it a very cost effective and practical car – particularly with younger buyers.
The Corsa also offers an array of economical engines, including a 1.3-litre diesel engine equipped with ecoFLEX technology, which delivers CO2 emissions as low as 94g/km – making it road tax exempt.
But it wasn’t just the Corsa supermini that proved lucrative for Vauxhall as its bigger brothers, the Astra hatchback and Insignia saloon, also made it into the top ten sellers chart.
The Vauxhall Astra trailed juts behind the Corsa in third place with 5,211 units sold, defeating its infamous Ford Focus adversary that dropped into fourth. The larger Insignia saloon model also made the top ten sellers list with 2,591 units sold.
Vauxhall Corsa prices range from £9,495 to £17,650 for the SRi trim level.
Vauxhall vehicles are available from Perrys Vauxhall dealerships.
