The Ford Fiesta sold 7,533 units across Britain in July, putting the supermini comfortably ahead of its nearest rival, the Vauxhall Corsa, which was the second best seller of the month with 5,809 sales.
Another Ford model also made the top ten for the month, the Focus family car finished fourth after registering 4,742 sales in July 2012.
Now after seven months of 2012, the Ford Fiesta remains the top selling car in the UK overall with 67,103 registrations in total. The Ford Focus is also riding high, placed third overall in UK sales to date with 48,595 registrations.
In 2012 to date Ford has in total achieved 168,905 sales in the UK market, a 3.8 per cent increase compared to this time last year.
Both of Ford’s current top selling models are facing some significant developments in the second half of this year.
During this September, a significant facelift will be revealed for the popular Ford Fiesta at the 2012 Paris Motor Show. The refreshed supermini will then reportedly go on sale during October this year as it looks to continue its successful sales run going into 2013.
Meanwhile the Ford Focus range will expanded by the arrival of the new performance-orientated ST model, which goes on sale later this month priced from £21,995.
The latest Ford Fiesta and Ford Focus are both available for purchase in Perrys Ford Dealerships found in Aylesbury and High Wycombe.
