Some may see this as a negative action by the American brand, but essentially, the longer time spent on it surely means the saloon will be all the better when it’s finally released.
The new Ford Mondeo features a sporty exterior design with strong contours on its bonnet and down its flanks, giving it a unique saloon appeal. Its front end is also unique as it features a wide and aggressive grille.
A spokesman for Ford commented on the delay:”We are working through various issues to ensure a robust, high quality launch.”
As well as unique styling the new Mondeo will also benefit from a low emitting 1.6-litre EcoBoost petrol engine.
Ford SYNC will feature on the new Mondeo, which includes a range of different voice activation features that help drivers control mobile phone activity, and satellite navigation features.
This Ford SYNC technology has given Ford the reputation of ‘talking cars’ as the high tech interactive system allows Ford SYNC drivers connect with each other and share information on possible traffic delays.
Other equipment in the new Mondeo includes Bluetooth connectivity, a lane keep distance system, adaptive cruise control and rear park assist.
The new Ford Mondeo is expected to go on sale in Europe sometime between May and June next year.
Ford vehicles are available from Perry’s Ford dealerships.
