The XTech builds on the rugged Defender model and adds both interior and exterior enhancements, which ultimately give it more of a stylish appeal.
The new special edition gives more of a refined appeal as the Defender is usually renowned for being a rough off-roader. Land Rover may have chosen to release this special edition as its lucrative Evoque, which is both stylish and highly capable off-road, sold so well.
The XTech offers two exclusive paint jobs: Orkney Grey and Nara Bronze, both of which are available with a colour contrasting black roof, wheel arches and side sills.
The XTech’s front end features black LED headlight surrounds, body coloured grille and ‘Land Rover’ lettering branded across its bonnet.
Exterior features of the XTech also include 16-inch Saw Tooth alloy wheels and a rear step bumper for easy rear accessibility.
Inside there is a choice of duo-tone Ebony & Almond upholstery, which matches the Orkney Grey and Nara Bronze paint jobs, embossed Land Rover logos on front headrests and carpet mats, plus a body-coloured central panel.
The Defender XTech makes use of a 2.2-litre diesel engine, which produces 360Nm of torque and is matched with a six-speed manual transmission.
The Land Rover Defender XTech special edition goes on sales from July with a starting price of £27,995. Standard Land Rover Defender prices start from £21,410.
Land rover vehicles are available from Perry’s Halifax and Huddersfield dealerships.
