Range Rover Evoque still racking up sales

Statistics from the Society of Motoring Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT) appear to show Land Rover is going from strength to strength, as its June sales figures have risen 46 per cent compared to last year, with its year-to-date figures rising 30 per cent.

But it’s no secret where this burst of growth has come from as Land Rover is evidently still reaping the benefits of its highly acclaimed Range Rover Evoque model, which was released back in September 2011.

The Evoque has sparked a whole new appeal for the Range Rover brand as the sub £30,000 crossover offers the style and luxury of a saloon, but with the off-road capability that is synonymous with the British brand.

The popularity and awareness of the Evoque has also come in the form of over 100 international awards, including Top Gear Car of the Year 2012 and Diesel Car Magazine Car of the Year 2012.

The Evoque awareness has also been amped up by the 1,000 new jobs that Land Rover has introduced in its Halewood plant in Merseyside. These 1,000 new jobs subsequently boosted production in the UK.

As well as producing the Evoque, the Halewood plant also manufacturers the Land Rover Freelander, which means this popular 4×4 is also being boosted in both awareness and popularity.

The Evoque’s SUV/crossover appeal has been somewhat of a corner stone in the recent SUV market as manufacturers have constantly tried to match its sleek coupe-like appeal and off-road capability by introducing new models and concepts.

Range Rover Evoque prices start from just £27,995.

Range Rover vehicles are available from Perry’s Halifax and Huddersfield dealerships.
