The 2012 Motorexpo will run from 11 June to 17 June and is expected to have around 425,000 visitors, who will be treated to a test drive of the cars on show, one of which is the new Kia cee’d.
Now in its second generation, the new cee’d hatchback offers a sportier appeal to its predecessor with stronger bonnet and door contours. It also features a revised engine range that offers two petrol and two diesels.
At the forefront of the new engine line-up is a frugal 1.6-litre diesel that emits just 97g/km of CO2 emissions and returns up to 76mpg, yet it still delivers a hefty power output of 126bhp. The 1.6-litre diesel is matched with a six-speed manual transmission.
The 1.6-litre diesel engine means that the cee’d is exempt from both the congestion charge and Vehicle Exercise Duty (VED).
Other engines in the line-up include a 1.4-litre diesel and a powerful 1.6-litre petrol, which has a power output of 133bhp and a top speed of 121mph. The 1.6-litre petrol is matched with a dual clutch transmission, which is a first for a Kia model.
The new Kia Cee’d is available with five trim levels: 1, 2, 3, 4 and 4 Tech. Entry level features of the ‘1’ trim include air conditioning, steering wheel mounted controls, daytime running lights and up to 380-litres of boot space, which is a 40 litre increase on the previous cee’d.
Other Kia models available for test drive at Motorexpo 2012 include the Kia Rio supermini and the Kia Sportage SUV.
Kia cee’d prices start from £14,395 on the road.
Kia vehicles are available from Perrys Burnley, Preston and Rotherham dealerships.
