The Renault owned Romanian brand Dacia is relatively unknown in the UK, but as it is heading for Perry’s dealerships you’ll be seeing a lot more of the Dacia badge.
Dacia is expected to offer low prices to compete with mainstream volume competitors like Citroen, Chevrolet and Peugeot and will offer a range of cars from the supermini Sandero to the Duster SUV.
We’ve rounded up the likely Dacia product range – expect to see these cars in a Perrys dealership next year.
When Dacia officially launches in the UK in 2013, there will be three Dacia models on offer: Dacia Sandero, Dacia Duster and the new Dacia Lodgy.
Dacia Sandero (supermini)
The Sandero is a five door supermini that is set to challenge the acclaimed Kia Picanto.
Upon release in the UK, Dacia estimates that it will cost below the £7,000 mark, meaning it will be cheaper than both the Kia Picanto and the slightly larger Kia Rio.
The Sandero will offer a 90bhp 1.6-litre petrol and the 70bhp 1.5-litre diesel.
Dacia Duster (SUV)
The Duster is a muscular SUV, which appears similar to some crossover models on the market, such as the Kia Sportage.
It will be available with both two and four wheel drive upon release and with either a 105bhp 1.6-litre petrol or an 85bhp and 110bhp 1.5-litre diesel. It emits CO2 emissions of 135g/km of returns up to 55.4mpg.
The Dacia Duster is expected to start as low as £10,000, which is nearly £8,000 cheaper than the Kia Sportage.
Dacia Lodgy (MPV)
The Dacia Lodgy is a large seven-seat MPV with up to 2016-litres worth of stowage space with its seats folded down.
Although extensive price and specification details have not yet been announced the Lodgy is expected to offer a range of engines, including a 1.5-litre diesel and 1.2-litre petrol.
It is also expected to cost less than £17,000.
Dacia vehicles will be available from Perry’s Aylesbury dealership upon release.
