Dacia Lodgy set for UK debut

Dacia is a Renault-owned brand and is relatively unknown to some. It has already established itself with models like the Logan saloon and Duster SUV, but the Dacia Lodgy is expected to challenge lucrative models like the Renault Scenic and Citroen C4 Picasso upon release in 2013.

The Dacia Lodgy gets its name from the word ‘Lodge’, which according to Dacia refers to its comfortable family-like interior. The Lodgy name may seem familiar to some as Dacia created the Lodgy Glace to promote the upcoming model back in 2011, which used a powerful 355bhp engine and drove on ice.

The large MPV measures 4500mm in length and comes available with both five and seven seat variants. The Lodgy has a highly versatile seating arrangement that can accommodate both passengers and luggage comfortably, with a vast storage space of up to 2016-litres with its seats down.

The Lodgy is expected to offer a range of engines including a 1.5-litre diesel, 1.2-litre petrol and a 1.6-litre petrol matched with either a five-speed or six-speed manual transmission.

Another key factor to the Dacia Lodgy is its price. Although extensive price and specification details have not yet been announced the Lodgy is expected to cost less than £17,000, which will seriously challenge its rivals.

The Dacia Lodgy will be available from Perry’s Aylesbury dealership upon release.
