Renault reveals Red Bull F1-inspired Twingo

Although the Twingo and F1 are an unexpected collaboration, the new Renault Twingo R.S. Red Bull Racing RB7 has all of the sport appeal and stylish flair of any other hot hatch.

The new Twingo hot hatch, which builds on the Twingo RS model, was created to celebrate the Red Bull F1 team’s 2011 Formula 1 world title, which is apparent in its exterior styling.

From the outside it offers an F1 style chequered roof decal and wider wheel arches with black 17-inch ‘Gana’ wheels. Its paintjob is a pearlescent black with body contrasting yellow on its side mirrors, front bumper and lip spoiler.

Its powertrain is a meaty 1.6-litre petrol engine that produces 133bhp at 6,750rpm and maximum toque of 160Nm at 4,400rpm.

This engine is matched with a choice of two different chassis setups: Cup and Sport. The Cup chassis offers a lower ride height by 4mm and the Sport enhances performance by minimising weight transfer and making it sleeker on the track.

Its interior features an on board R.S. Monitor that acts as a driver assist by reporting data when participating in sporty driving. Its interior also features yellow stitching on its steering wheel, black gloss inserts on its dashboard and a limited edition “FIA 2011 World Champion” plaque.

Orders for the new Renault Twingo R.S. Red Bull Racing RB7 will open in June 2012, but unfortunately it will not be available in the UK.

Although this new Twingo hot hatch offers F1 style, it is unlikely we will see Sebastian Vettel whizzing it around the track any time soon.
