Jaguar XKR has a ‘licence to thrill’

An array of James Bond cars have been displayed at the fifth annual Cholmondeley Pageant of Power, an event where iconic cars gather for showcase.

To celebrate 50 years of 007 hitting the big screen, the Pageant featured many of the cars that starred alongside Bond whilst being portrayed by actor Pierce Brosnan.

These included the Aston Martin V12 Vanquish, BMW Z8 and the dangerously stylish Jaguar XKR Convertible.

The emerald coloured Jaguar XKR featured in the box office film ‘Die Another Day’ and was driven by Bond villain Zoe in the infamous arctic fire fight.

It’s clear to see why the Jaguar XKR was chosen for the Bond film as it ticks all of the boxes of what makes a Bond car with its stylish sport appeal and powerful engine.

The Jaguar XKR Convertible comes available with a supercharged 5.0-litre V8 petrol engine that delivers a whopping power output of 503bhp and a top speed of 155mph. This means the XKR can achieve a 0-60mph sprint time of just 4.6 seconds.

The XKR is also offered with a wide range of option packs to further enhance its sporty appeal, including the XKR Black Dynamic Pack that adds 20-inch alloy wheels, side intakes and an array of paint jobs including British Racing Green.

Sorry to disappoint Bond fans, but the XKR that Jaguar sell does not have rockets in its bumper or a Gatling gun mounted on its rear. You have to be 007 to get these perks.

The Cholmondeley Pageant of Power took place from 15-17 May 2012.

Jaguar XKR prices start from £78,930 on the road.
