The resulting special-edition model, the Citroen C1 Connexion, has been presented with the car’s design finalised with the help of almost 25,000 Facebook fans.
There were over 24,000 configurations submitted on the Facebook page by fans, with Facebook users able to choose between the design of the cars body style, exterior paint job and features.
But after a unanimous decision, the most popular C1 Connexion design had a three-door body style, a ‘Caldera’ black paint job with ‘Scarlett’ red door mirrors and handles, and alloy wheels.
The next design phase of the C1 Connexion is the designing of the badge, which is now open for entries.
As the car is based on one of the Citroen C1’s top VTR trim levels its equipment is very similar and includes air conditioning, day-time LED running lights and electric front windows. The C1 Connexion will also use the same 1.0-litre 68bhp petrol engine.
Citroen is also hosting a competition to win one of the new special edition models when it goes into production later this year and there have already been over 10,000 entries from Facebook fans.
Citroen says it has increased its Facebook fan base by over 13,500.
Citroen vehicles are available from Perry’s Barnsley, Huddersfield and Milton Keynes dealerships.
