The new Jaguar XJ Supersport has received a new Speed Pack to increase the top speed to 174mph, 19mph more than the standard Jaguar XJ Supersport.
Available in two different wheelbase lengths (short and long) the new Supersport comes with a 5.0-litre V8 engine developing 502bhp.
To cope with all this extra power, the Jaguar XJ Supersport with the Speed Pack adds new, red brake callipers and some aerodynamic tweaks to the body. Cosmetic additions include new paint options and 20″ alloy wheels.
It also includes the same luxurious cabin and rear passenger space as the standard Jaguar XJ Supersport, including a touch-screen display, leather upholstery and a premium sound system and sat-nav.
Jackson, who won a silver Olympic medal and three world championships in the 110m hurdles, is currently an ambassador of Jaguar’s Academy of Sport, which funds young athletes across several sports.
After declaring that it was a personal best speed for him, Jackson added: That’s a new record for me – the car was incredibly stable and quiet, it really felt totally at ease with travelling at such enormous speeds. We pulled more the 1G in deceleration – it was quite a ride!”
The UK’s fastest Jaguar is on sale now and is also being used as a ‘taxi’ at the Nurburgring circuit in Germany after the car proved to be popular with people who wanted a hot lap in the supercharged luxury saloon.
The Jaguar XJ Supersport starts from £91,000 for short wheelbase versions and £94,000 for long wheelbase versions. The Speed Pack is an optional extra and a Jaguar XJ Supersport using the Speed Pack starts from nearly £95,000 for short wheelbase versions.
The new Jaguar XJ is available now from Perrys Jaguar of Huddersfield.
