The new Ford Fiesta rival will be showcased across the country in what Peugeot is calling the ‘Bodydrive Roadshow’.
It will also offer one person the chance to win a luxury holiday for eight to Ibiza in a competition to find the best ‘bodydriving’ dancer.
Peugeot has uploaded a video of internet dance star Marquese Scott and has challenged competitors to upload their own dance to take on Marquese.
If the dancer wins the ‘digital dance off’ they will win a trip to Ibiza courtesy of Peugeot, the brand has revealed.
The new Peugeot 208 is expected to be one of the best new car launches of 2012 and Peugeot is launching it as a rival to the best-selling Ford Fiesta and Vauxhall Corsa compact hatchbacks.
It is focusing on the responsive handling and weight reduction of the Peugeot 208 with the ‘Let your body drive’ campaign.
However, the new Peugeot 208 also comes with a completely overhauled design compared to the current Peugeot 207 hatchback.
It features Peugeot’s new front end including a new grille, fog lamps and a new front bumper. At the back, claw-like rear LED lights complete the new look.
Inside, Peugeot has revamped the interior to make it feel more premium and upmarket. The Peugeot 208 comes with new interior materials, a glossy finish to the console and new equipment as standard.
Under the bonnet, Peugeot has introduced new, efficient engines including a new, sub-100g/km of CO2 petrol engine offering free road tax.
The diesel engines include stop-start technology and all five offer free road tax because of their low CO2 emissions, the criteria for the tax in the UK.
New Peugeot 208 prices start from £10,000 for the three-door version. A five-door version will also be available from launch, which is set for June 2012.
