In the first ever Trade Van Driver (TVD) awards, the Citroen Nemo was voted the best city van by judges from the trade magazine, which aims to find the best vehicles and services for van buyers.
Business users who actually drove the vans also had an input into the final result and the compact Nemo was declared the winner.
The judges said: “The cheeky Nemo is ideal for city-based operations. It has a small footprint to winkle into those tight corners, but is capable of carrying up to 2.8m³ of cargo and returns amazing fuel economy figures.
“Add to this the expert back-up from Citroën’s ever-increasing number of Business Centres and you have a worthy winner.”
The Citroen Nemo van comes a choice of petrol and diesel engine, both of which comply with new European emissions regulations.
The 1.4-litre petrol is also used for Citroen’s car range but the 1.3-litre diesel represents the greenest of the two choices.
The 75hp diesel uses stop-start technology to reduce fuel consumption and deliver just 109g/km of CO2 emissions, making it one of the most frugal vans on sale.
The versatile Citroen Nemo comes equipped with air conditioning, rear parking sensors and Bluetooth if the higher level Enterprise trim is chosen.
However, it also comes with the opportunity to convert the van into a chiller or freezer van for businesses which transport food and other chilled goods.
Citroen Nemo van prices start from around £10,000 in the UK for entry-level petrol versions. New Citroen Nemo vans are available from Perrys Motors Citroen dealerships.
