The newest ‘Original’ is the new Kia Soul Inferno, a high-spec MPV kitted out in dragon body graphics, black alloy wheels and a unique interior.
New ‘Tornado Red’ paintwork adorns the boxy, five-door Kia Soul Inferno and silver roof rails and its body graphics give it a more menacing look than the standard model.
The new Kia Soul Inferno costs £18,695 and sits near the top of the Kia Soul price range. However, it comes generously-equipped with a full black leather upholstery, tinted rear windows, LED running lights and mood lighting inside.
Equipment includes air conditioning, cruise control, heated seats, a sound system including radio, CD player and MP3/iPod connectivity as well as rear parking sensors and electric windows.
Kitted out with the same safety features as the standard Kia Soul including a full set of airbags and electronic stability control, the new Kia Soul Inferno comes with a five-star EuroNCAP rating.
It also comes with Kia’s seven-year warranty covering 100,000 miles. The warranty is fully transferable if the car is sold within the seven-year time period.
Engine options include a 1.6-litre diesel developing 126bhp and matched to a six-speed manual transmission. The engine delivers CO2 emissions of 129g/km – or £100 in road tax per year – and 57.6mpg.
Kia says the Originals range, refreshed every couple of months, is intended to work in the same way fashion collections are refreshed every season.
The Kia Soul MPV is a unique, SUV-like people carrier available from £12,500. However, the introduction of the Inferno means there are now three Soul Originals on sale in the UK after previous launches of the Hunter and Quantum at Kia UK dealerships.
