While the confused road rules and sheer volume of traffic near the Paris tourist attraction is a nightmare for many, the compact, all-electric city car promises to showcase the future of hassle-free city driving.
The tiny, two-seat Renault Twizy is appearing in the ‘Plug Into The Positive Energy’ exhibition at the Champ Elysees until 8 July as the launch of the car draws near.
The customisable, door-less city car will go on sale in the UK next month and orders are now open for the Renault Twizy electric car, the third of Renault’s electric range after the launch of the Kangoo ZE van and the Renault Fluence saloon.
Fitted with a battery pack, the Renault Twizy offers a range of 60 miles on a single charge and a top speed of 50mph.
From launch three trim levels are available; Colour, Urban and range-topping Technic. A host of customisable colours and options will also be made available with the new city mobility solution.
The Twizy, which comes with a 1+1 tandem seating layout, is Renault’s answer to congested city areas thanks to its tiny dimensions and ultra-low running costs.
The new Renault Twizy is road tax-free and is exempt from the London congestion charge. It can also park front-first against the kerb to slot into parking spots more conventional cars cannot fit into.
Renault Twizy prices start from £6,690 and the first models will arrive in April. The battery is leased separately to ensure the driver does not take on any repair costs.
You can buy the new Renault Twizy from a Perrys Renault dealership.
